Mr David George

Mr David George, in my opinion; is an outstanding orthopedic surgeon. Clearly, I know nothing about orthopedics so what would I know? I can tell you what I know....I am no longer in pain and have two legs that can walk; anyone who can fix that is outstanding. He explains everything precisely as to how it will go. His instructions for both pre and post surgery are clear and excellent. I consider my surgery a huge success, my recovery has beaten any expectations I could have had. This, I put down to following to the best of my ability his advise. On the day of surgery of course I was nervous, more like scared to death; however, Mr George's calming demeanour, professionalism and contagious smile certainly took the edge off. I found my fear become more of an interest. Mr George is happy to answer questions, even some of my rather silly obvious ones. He comes across to me as having great enthusiasm for the work he carries out. It's more than work, it's a skill and dedication to improve people's lives. Mr George appeared on the ward not long after my surgery, checking in on all his patients for that day, he explained how the surgery went and again presented advice on the do's and don'ts. No one wants to be in hospital, let alone have surgery but I can truly say that for someone of a normally nervous disposition, my whole experience was a good one. To sit here now and type this without that awful pain I was enduring is unreal. I can even get up and make a cup of tea when I want. Pre surgery, that was not quite so simple. So I for one am truly grateful for the treatment I received.

Mr George visited me on the day of the operation, he provided me with all the information I needed to know and answered all of my questions in a positive and honest manner. I found Mr George very easy to talk to and his demeanour was such that he left me in a positive frame of mind. On the day of the operation things went very smoothly, I arrived at the hospital at 7am and by 11.45am I was back on the ward with the hip replacement having been successfully completed. I was offered and accepted a lumber anaesthetic, I was awoken and became immediately aware of my surroundings just as the operation was being completed. I felt no pain whatsoever during or immediately after the operation, although my lower legs and feet were very numb. In the early afternoon Mr George visited me on the ward, he informed me that the operation went very well and as long as I was in agreement, I could be released from the Hospital that day. I was assessed by the physiotherapy staff and eventually released early that evening. Mr George has an excellent bedside manner, every interaction I had with him left me feeling very confident in his abilities and skill. After nearly six weeks I feel that the hip operation that Mr George performed has changed my life for the better and I cannot thank him enough. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mr George, he is an excellent surgeon.

From the very first I had confidence in Mr George. His bed side manner was first rate and his explaining everything was good. His expertise on Hip surgery was immediately evident and from the very moment of my operation I have had no pain or any problem. I would without hesitation recommend him. From the moment I met Mr George I felt confident in him. He not only had a good bedside manner but was easy to talk to. The surgery (replace hip) went very well with no problems of any type. It is now 6 weeks after the operation and I can now walk with no supports and no pain whatsoever. I would not hesitate from recommending him. Many thanks for what you did. David Gladstone
